### WHAT IS THE PIRACY PUNKS PROJECT? TL:DR
The Piracy Punks Project is a gamefi project that fuses together an NFT PFP collection with Play & Earn mechanics and DeFi functionality. Launching on Polygon in early 2022 there are 10,000 Genesis Piracy Punks to be minted and holders of these NFTs will earn our native utility tokens, can compete in our ecosystem to earn and win prizes, rewards and NFTs.

The Piracy Punks are a nod to the evolving concept of digital 'piracy' in NFTs: the ongoing battle between Web2 DMCA requests VS Web3 decentralization and the evolution of digital IP.

The Piracy Punks are a dynamic NFT collection, designed to be playable, augmentable and evolving. The Polygon Blockchain allows NFT games to be developed and enjoyed without paying the Gas fees that exist on Ethereum. The initial mechanics are simple enough: Stake your NFTs to earn our native tokens, buy materials, craft weapon & jewellery NFTs that enhance your Pirates, and then compete in Galleon Wars, our Pirate battle game.
