GEM POUCHES

Gem Pouches are ERC-1155 NFTs which are minted with $DOUBS. When minted, the Gem Pouches are sealed, so the contents are unknown, and the pouch can be sold on secondary markets. In order to access the gems inside, the pouch must be appraised by the jeweller and a fee must be paid in $COMPASS. Once the pouch has been opened, the original Gem Pouch NFT is burned and the holder receives 3 x individual Gems as ERC-1155 NFTs.
GEMS

Players receive gems, randomly minted using Chainlink's VRF, when Gem Pouches are opened. The gems vary in their type & rarity (I.e: ruby / agate / sapphire / emerald) and also vary in grade (I.e: opaque / clear / flawless). The rarest and highest grade gems have the highest in-game value.
Gems are required to craft both jewellery and weapons in the game. Different gemstones are required to unlock certain areas of the game and are used as bonuses and multipliers for different quests.
RUM RATIONS
Rum Rations tokens can be staked in the user dashboard and will also earn $DOUBS emissions on a daily basis. The Rum Rations are rated from 10 (highest) to 1 (lowest) and their $DOUBS emissions are based on these multipliers: Rum Rations with a 10 rating will receive the highest emissions, and those with a rating of 1 receive the lowest.
Rum Rations tokens are collected on a first come, first served basis after minting a Piracy Punk. 1 Rum Rations token can be claimed for each Piracy Punk you have in your wallet. The first tokens to be claimed have a 10 rating, then the next batch have a 9 rating and so on, until all the tokens are claimed. Rum Rations tokens can also be bought or sold on secondary markets. 50% of all secondary market royalties will be returned back to holders of $veDOUBS.
GOLD & STEEL ORE
In Phase 2, players will be able to buy gold and steel ore, paying in $DOUBS.
Gold is used in conjunction with gems to craft Pirate jewellery, and comes in a number of grades and qualities. Steel is used in conjunction with gems to craft Pirate weapons, and also comes in a number of grades and qualities.
JEWELLERY
Pirates love their jewellery, and the Piracy Punks are no exception. Jewellery is crafted by the jeweller, and players must supply the jeweller with gold and gems to create jewels. Players must collect rings, brooches and necklaces to unlock different elements of gameplay as time goes on.
Jewellery also serves to boost $COMPASS emissions for each pirate who is equipped with jewellery. The higher quality gold and gems used in the jewellery, the higher the boost and the longer the boost lasts.
WEAPONS
Weapons are crafted by the armourer and require steel and gems to create daggers and cutlasses. These weapons are required for players to progress in the later stages of the game and also serve as boosts for the emissions of $COMPASS APR. The higher quality steel and gems used in the weapons, the higher the boost and the longer the boost lasts.
